Refuge de Varan

SHELTER CLOSED FOR WORKS
Under the majestic Aiguille de Varan, the refuge faces a prodigious panorama: the Mont-Blanc massif and the Aravis range. Easy and ideal access for a first night in a refuge.
The refuge is part of a group of alpine chalets leaning against the side of the Aiguille de Varan 2544m. Located in the town of Passy, in the far west, on the southern slope of the Fiz chain, facing the Mont-Blanc Massif, dominating the Arve valley from some 1000 meters.

It is the starting point for numerous hikes of all difficulties but also a pleasant stopover (unique panorama of the Mont Blanc Massif) for the Fiz tour and the Mont Blanc country tour.
40 minutes from the refuge, you can climb the recent climbing routes in the Barmerousse sector (5 routes 180m 5c to 7b).
The Varan site is also a place recognized by paragliders, 3 takeoffs near the refuge including one less than 5 minutes away. With 3 landing points 1000 m lower, all facing Mont Blanc.
In good weather, dinners can be had on the terrace while admiring the sunset over the massif and breakfast facing the sunrise, the first rays illuminating the Massif and caressing your back...
