At the foot of the Dent du Requin and the Aiguille du Plan, the refuge is perched on a balcony above the Mer de Glace. This high mountain site offers an exceptional panorama facing the Séracs du Géant. In summer, the refuge offers considerable tranquillity.
In winter, the refuge opens its terrace and offers you lunch, during a ski descent of the white valley that can be enjoyed from the terrace of the refuge. For downhill skiers, the surroundings of the refuge are a real playground.
In summer, the Requin refuge is above all a refuge for mountaineers. The surrounding area offers beautiful high mountain rock climbing and glacial mountaineering. We will consider the Aiguille du Plan, the Aiguille du Tacul or many other races.

In winter, as soon as the snow conditions allow it, it becomes a great relay for skiers descending the Vallée Blanche.

Access: In winter by gravity, Aiguille du Midi or Skyway Torino cable car and descent on skis or snowshoes from the Vallée Blanche.
Access: In summer, Train du Montenvers. A path and dizzying ladders allow you to descend onto the glacier then route on the left bank of the Mer de Glace as for the Envers des Aiguilles refuge. We go up the Mer de Glace on the left bank to the Envers slabs. Stay on the left bank and go up the Tacul glacier to the Requin scales. To find out the exact conditions, contact the guards. Times 3:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. Crampons and ice ax required.
