Plan Glacier is an old-fashioned refuge, a rustic all-wood refuge like we don't make anymore.
The comfort is basic, but you come here to find an authentic mountain experience, to experience the conviviality of moments shared in small groups in the simple beauty of nature.
It is a refuge where we sleep against each other in a small dormitory of 18 places. There are no showers and the dry toilets are rudimentary.
The refuge is accessible by a demanding hike, one of the most beautiful in the massif. It crosses mountain pastures and ends in a high mountain landscape. Mountaineering races are possible from the refuge. Wildlife is often present around these trails which are of geological and historical interest.
There is a warm welcome and delicious cuisine!
For more mountaineers, from Plan Glacier, it is possible to climb the Mettrier Ridge, the Dômes de Miage, the Aiguille Bionnassay…
