Refuge du Goûter

Highest guarded refuge in France, perched at an altitude of 3m, on the route most frequented by mountaineers from all over the world to climb the roof of Europe.
Of ovoid architecture, designed to fit technically and aesthetically into the constraints of a difficult environment where winds can reach 300 km/h, the Refuge du Goûter foreshadows a new generation of buildings.
An architectural and technical challenge since it was a question of constructing a building with a wooden structure, light as well as resistant, on 4 floors, with a stainless steel exterior cladding and to use innovative technologies effectively, without forgetting the first function. construction.

As in previous years, by ministerial decree, all forms of camping are prohibited in the Mont-Blanc classified site, including bivouacs. A system will be put in place by the public authorities to ensure compliance with these regulations. Only the Tête Rousse base camp allows the establishment of 50 tents. Please contact the guardians of the Tête Rousse refuge before going up to let them know if you wish to camp.
