With a length of about 1km, the path is located at the entrance to the village of Combloux when arriving from Sallanches. He walks through the forest where there are still huge erratic blocks deposited about 15 years ago, during the retreat of the glacier.

Created in collaboration with the ONF, Espace Mont-Blanc, the Department and the municipality, it reuses the paths and access ramps created at the beginning of the 20th century and guides the walker in the footsteps of the granite workers. The different themes are addressed through thematic panels, reconstruction of a forge, exhibition of small equipment. Taking this path gives the feeling of living in another era when men worked hard to earn their living. Indeed, many vestiges of the old quarries (winches, slides, access ramps, boarding platform, etc.) immerse you in the atmosphere of the granite workers who came from neighboring Italy.

Be careful, during winter the path is slippery – wear good shoes.

Forest trail with small rocks to step over, some roots. Wooden footbridges to facilitate the passage of certain areas. Be careful, the trail is mostly in the shade and can be muddy. In rainy weather, the presence of rocks can make the ground slippery. Good walking shoes recommended whatever the conditions.

Location details

Arriving from Sallanches, at the first roundabout at the entrance to Combloux, turn right towards the ZAC de Plan Mouillé. The trail starts at the third bend, there are a few parking spaces in a small dirt car park, otherwise there are a few spaces along the road two bends further up.
