The MB Race is a famous mountain bike competition which takes place in the Pays du Mont-Blanc region. These events, intended for everyone, cross no less than 12 localities between Savoie and Haute-Savoie: Megève, Combloux, La Giettaz, Flumet, Praz-sur-Arly, Saint-Gervais, Sallanches... and many others.

With Mont-Blanc as a backdrop, this mountain biking event follows the most beautiful alpine trails in the area. Its routes also alternate between forest tracks and technical trails, to the delight of mountain bikers.

Since its inception, the MB Race has, after all, established itself as a reference in the world of MTB :

  • both for its mythical mountain bike race – the MB Ultra Somfy – reputed to be the most difficult in the world
  • only for its exceptional setting offering breathtaking panoramas.

The toughest mountain bike race in the world

Since its inception and as mentioned at the outset, the MB Race has stood out in the landscape of MTB by including in its program a unique event of its kind: the MB Ultra Somfy, a one-day race, which became legendary over the years. With a record distance of 140 km and an elevation gain of 7 m, this flagship event of the MB Race had only one finisher in 000.

Considered today as the most demanding mountain bike race in the world, the MB Ultra Somfy is above all a personal challenge, a true inner battle. With a common start for the three courses (70 km, 100 km, 140 km) the participants in this extraordinary competition share a common objective: to cross the finish line of the queen distance of 140 km.

The MB Race offers several courses. The event is open to everyone, cycling enthusiasts or enthusiasts, young or old, with friends or family... there is something for everyone thanks to the different tests offered.


Discover the MTB Alpine Cup

The MTB Alpine Cup brings together four major marathon mountain bike events - whose the prestigious MB Ultra Somfy – all part of the UCI Marathons Series circuit. It's an unmissable event for mountain bike enthusiasts looking for extreme challenges and breathtaking panoramas.

With these 436 km of course and 17 m of cumulative elevation gain, this extraordinary competition represents both:

  • a major challenge for mountain bike enthusiasts
  • a unique opportunity to discover exceptional routes across the Alps.
