Route description

Sporty and technical itinerary for adventure lovers.
Whether you're on a day trip or spending the night at the Sales refuge, this challenging hike will introduce you to the Passy Nature Reserve and the Sales valley via the technical and aerial passage of the Dérochoir. Thrills and a change of scenery are guaranteed.

As you pass through Le Dérochoir, you'll be immersed in the limestone cliffs of Les Fiz, in the heart of the Passy Nature Reserve. Keep your eyes peeled for a wallcreeper to be seen nearby. Above, bearded vultures, nesting nearby, regularly pass by.

Other routes are possible on the way back (notably via the Col de la Portette and the Platé refuge) if you do not wish to return via the Dérochoir. The descent from the Dérochoir is particularly not recommended in wet weather.

The Passy Nature Reserve is a protected and regulated area. Wildlife thrives here, so please respect it. Dogs, even on leashes, are prohibited, as are motorized vehicles, fires, and flying overhead, especially drones. Camping is permitted from 19 p.m. to 9 a.m.
