Route description

Family walk. At Lake Javen, possibility of catering, games for children, fishing site.
Admire the backdrop of the Aravis and Aiguilles de Varans massifs, the delicate line of the Aiguilles Croches.
Facing Megève Tourisme, follow the direction of the Haut Val d'Arly Museum, continue on the Perchets road, after a small climb, turn right towards Chemin de Lady. Then follow the directions for Le Tour and Lac de Javen.
You will pass near the Caboche gondola (Restaurant). Continue on the Route du Tour following the signs. At the end of the road, the Tour ski lift on your right, take the path in front of you that goes up through the undergrowth (Le Babotch restaurant and La Petite Fontaine).
After about 30 minutes of walking, discover the lake (restaurant, fishing site and games for children).

For the return different options:
– take the same route and/or alternatively via Chemin de Fanou. At the hamlet of Tour on the left at the last renovated farm take the path which goes back down to the center of Megève via the Chemin de Fanou and des Perchets.
– take the road to the Pont de la Rée, the path in the woods on your left joins the hamlet of Tour.
– At the Pont de la Rée, join the Route du Tour, turn right towards Le Maz (for 400m), opposite the chapel, return to the village via Chemin du Maz.
Allow 1 hour for the descent.
– Possibility of taking the Meg'bus, go down to the Maz chapel then take the Ed. de Rotschild road downhill to the “l'angne” stop. According to current times

0/ Opposite Megève Tourisme, follow the direction of the Haut Val d'Arly Museum,

Tips and Suggestions

2 options to get closer:
– park at a place called la Rée, direction Mont d'Arbois, then le Tour towards Lac de Javen via Chemin de la Rée, park after the bridge. 20 min walk to get to the lake
– park at the Hameau du tour (small car park opposite the ski lift). 30 min walk to go to the lake.
– Possibility of taking the Meg'bus (according to current timetables), departure from the bus station and/or the “open-air skating rink” stop to the “l'angne” stop located below from the Maz chapel from where you will continue your journey towards Lake Javen via Chemin de la Rée.
