Les Houches

Décollage de l'Aiguillette

Practice: paragliding
Orientation: South
Observations / Dangers: imperatively take off on the ridge, on the Les Houches side because of the limit of the Carlaveyron nature reserve.
Flight conditions: late morning to late afternoon flight site. Thermodynamic and restitution breeze conditions.

Hazards/difficulties:
– Often delicate inflation: sloping takeoff.
Fairly steep break in slope generating a small roll on the flat where the sail is spread.
– Particular aerology in the thermodynamics of the valley wind.
– The take-off is at the limit of the roll generated by the Coupeau plateau on the right at the take-off exit: avoid this area. Excellent performance
dynamic on the left on exiting take-off on the western shoulder of Parc Merlet.

Level: confirmed cross-country pilot.

Landing: gravel pit at Cachat. Attention! Very technical landing: the gravel pit is not always free of space depending on the work undertaken there. Near the Arve torrent.

Specific regulations: avoid flying over the animal park, in order to respect the animals and avoid conflicts with the owners.
