Décollage de Planpraz – Brévent

Flight conditions: interesting site from 8 am until early afternoon.

Hazards/difficulties:
– To the southwest: cables of the Brévent cable car in front of the take-off exit, move well to the right to pass under the cables.
– As soon as the conditions are thermal, good experience is necessary.
– Be careful in west and north weather winds greater than 20 km/h at 2000 m: you are flying downwind, turbulent conditions.
– For cross-country departures to Flégère: horizontal cables connecting the cable car between the Brévent and Flégère stations in the Lachenal valley at an altitude of approximately 1700 m.

Level: supervised beginner to cross country.

Landing: Bois du Bouchet.
The landing is not visible from the takeoff: remember to spot it before going up to fly. Emergency landing possible at the Savoy.

Specific regulations:
– Landings at Bouchet and Savoy are prohibited by municipal decree during the opening period of the alpine and cross-country ski slopes: you must then land on the delta terrain of Bois du Bouchet, very turbulent and landlocked!
– Beyond the west/northwest summit ridge, overflight is prohibited at less than 1000 m above ground, Aiguilles-Rouges nature reserve.
