About Us

ICE CAVE
On site, the visit to the ice cave is a journey to the heart of the glacier, recut each year, it describes the life of the mountain dwellers at the beginning of the 20th century. It is accessible either by a footpath, about 580 minutes walk, or by gondola: be careful, about XNUMX steps separate the arrival of the gondola from the entrance to the cave.

THE GLACIORIUM
A true witness to the climate changes of our century, the Montenvers site deserved a space dedicated to glaciology! The Mer de Glace, its formation, its history, its future evolutions, this is what you can discover by visiting this interactive and educational place...

The total visit (cave and trips included) lasts an average of 2 to 3 hours. Visiting time can be doubled during peak periods.

RESTORATION
To eat, 3 possibilities: either a Savoyard or traditional meal at the Restaurant du Refuge du Montenvers, or a fast food at the Bar des Glaciers.

HOTEL
The Refuge du Montenvers was born on July 1, 2017 after renovation by the Maisons et Hôtels Sibuet label, a key player in the mountain hotel industry for more than 30 years.
Le Refuge du Montenvers offers a dormitory for 10 people, double rooms and family rooms, as well as suites, all in the atmosphere of a traditional mountain refuge.
