Magnificent limestone of altitude similar to that of the Towers of Areu, for example.

Two magnificent climbing routes cross the pillar, which is clearly visible from the valley:
The classic “SW Pillar” (retooled) and “Neither God nor Master”.
It's not the same style, but both are well worth the detour.
Very beautiful climbing in a superb and calm site. Very beautiful high altitude limestone.

The pillar has two routes: The classic “SW Pillar” (re-equipped) and “Neither God nor Master”. It's not the same style, but both are well worth the detour.
Environment:
Due to the altitude, climbing is only possible during the summer season.
The approach is quite complicated in generally steep terrain.
Rock :
Magnificent limestone of altitude similar to that of the Towers of Areu.
Equipment:
The classic route has been re-equipped: the points are quite close in the key pitches.
“Neither God, nor Master” is a little sportier but well equipped.
Pedestrian access:
From Sallanches, follow the forest road which goes up to the Véran refuge.
Continue to follow this track after the refuge.
Then climb directly above the Iron Cross in the grass, up to a succession of corridors which lead to the base of the pillar. These corridors are made of steep grass and require attention, particularly on the descent or when the grass is wet.
The SW Pillar is immediately above (when you emerge from the approach, directly above the beautiful pillar).
“Neither God nor Master” is a little further on the right. The route starts in a beautiful gray wall.
