Le PLM et villas régionalistes

Palace located at the entrance to the village of Combloux, built at the beginning of the XNUMXth century.
In 1909, the Hôtel du Mont-Blanc was built by a rich Swiss owner, Mr. Phyl Provence. This 50-room palace was bought by the PLM Company (Paris-Lyon – Méditerranée) in 1923, which expanded it (200 rooms and 60 bathrooms). The luxury of this establishment with its generous reception spaces, its terraces surrounded by balusters with pot-bellied columns, its refined cuisine, its sports facilities (golf, tennis, ice rink, and from 1936 its "ski lift") attracted a clientele fortunate.
Five “Regionalist Villas” were built at the end of the 1920s by Mr. John Lachenal, landscape architect who developed the PLM park. They are characterized by attics, hips and awnings, bay windows. Fleury Raillon is the architect. Mr. Lachenal will also build the hotel “Edelweiss” and the hotel des glaciers which became “Le Chalet des Etudiants” then the “Chalet de la ville de Sens” then “Le Refuge de la Cigogne”
