Maison de l'Alpage
The Chamonix valley is imbued with a nature that men, over the centuries, have invested and shaped. From the first shepherds to the peasants of today, the farmer remains the historical witness of the evolution of the landscapes and the mutations of the territory: Natural spaces, architecture and town planning, traffic and transport.
Through a richly illustrated exhibition, the visitor will find the keys to understanding the fragile balance between man and his environment.
Temporary exhibition: “What we know about… The House of Lieutenant and Joseph Marie Devillaz”.
In the heart of the Hameau du Mont, one of the oldest houses in the valley still hides many questions about its experience and its transformations over the centuries. This exhibition invites you to take stock of what we know today.
