At 3358 meters above sea level, on the border ridge, at the Col de Miage, in a very high mountain "decor" and in very marked solitude, dominating from 1600 m the plateau of the Miage chalets, a refuge due to fraternal work mountaineers "of the place".
Outside guarding periods: winter room with 15 places. Covers-dishes-pans.

Location details
Saint-Gervais le Fayet SNCF station, then bus service La Gruvaz stop (after the village of Saint-Gervais) 10 min walk from the start of the trail.
From the Gruvaz car park – 1150m, access the Chalets de Miage (1559m, guarded refuge) – 1 hour.
Continue towards the Col de Miage via pastures, go up a rocky escarpment and the moraine to access the Plan-glacier refuge (2730m guarded refuge) – 3 hours.
Reach the glacier by crossing along the west slope (cable passages), cross the Miage glacier and reach the ledge marked with a red dot. Go up the spur towards the Col de Miage where the old refuge is located – 3 hours.
Count in total 7 to 8 hours. 2200m of elevation gain.
Access also possible from the Conscrits refuge -2602m via the Domes de Miage – 3670m in 7 hours.
