In addition to the visit to the exhibitions of the castle, the group of children carries out a workshop with a mediator around the musical instruments provided by nature.
A multitude of musical instruments are hidden in the plants! The objective of this workshop is to make your own instrument and to experiment with the sounds produced by wood, plants and other elements that nature provides us.
The workshop takes place in 3 stages:
– The group wonders about the natural elements that can produce sounds. They think about the first instruments that humans would have made according to them. The mediator brings data from archaeological research.
– The children can then choose which natural instrument they want to make and are divided into different production workshops. They are led to handle tools like luthiers creating their wooden instrument.
– Once their instruments are made, the children test their sounds and try to recreate a “harmonic sheet” orchestra.
The educational objectives:
– Experiment with woodworking and learn how to use DIY tools
– Discover new natural materials
– Discover and understand how we go from raw material to an instrument
