Combloux, arrival village of the time trial of the 16th stage of the Tour de France 2023
Just confirmed by the organization of the Tour de France 2023, Combloux has been chosen to receive the arrival of the time trial between Passy and Combloux on Tuesday July 18, 2022.
The riders will set off from the village of Passy towards the famous Domancy coast, renamed “montée Bernard Hinault”, in reference to the victory of the cycling champion on this eponymous road during the World Road Championships in 1980. Renowned for its difficulty, you need strong calves to climb this 2,5 km climb with an average gradient of 9,4%.
Once at the top of this infernal climb, there are still a few short kilometers to reach the finish in the village center of Combloux where the public should be there to cheer on the runners.
Haute-Savoie will be particularly honored in this Tour de France 2023 with 6 stages to follow in the department from July 15 to 20. No doubt a nod to the 2027 World Cycling Championships which will be organized in Haute-Savoie as announced by the International Cycling Union at the end of September.
