Snow is making a comeback in Combloux

On this third Monday of January known as “Blue Monday”, supposed to be the most depressing day of the year, it is not so in Combloux! The village woke up to the snow that has not stopped falling today, to the delight of holidaymakers but also locals who were waiting for it.

There are already 15 cm of fresh snow covering the village at the moment, and this figure is expected to increase further as more snowfalls are expected in the coming days.

The return of this precious white gold and the cold was eagerly awaited in the resort and allowed the reopening of the Combloux ski slopes this morning.

Indeed, following its closure on December 24 for lack of snow, the Portes du Mont-Blanc ski area was able to partially reopen on January 11 thanks to the efforts of its teams in the field, but the Combloux sector had to close in the face of the rapidly deteriorating conditions. To offer a skiing alternative to its vacationers, the municipality had organized shuttles to transport skiers to the open sectors.

Today this seems to be ancient history since the quantities of snow expected by Wednesday evening should allow the total reopening of the Les Portes du Mont-Blanc ski area.

Excellent news for holidaymakers and locals who will be able to have a great time on the ski slopes, but also a relief for all the professionals of the resort. Three weeks before the February holidays, this strong return to winter bodes well and should encourage last-minute bookings.
