The Great Show of Combloux, episode 1: the legacy of the Dark Winter
"1859. Joseph comes from Combloux through his mother whom he never knew, but he knows nothing about this country which was described to him as miserable and wild. Of Combloux, he only has one great uncle left, Cornélius de Sombre-Hiver, who lives recluse on his meager mountain lands, without speaking to anyone.
Joseph was raised in the big city, by his father's family, and despite all the love he received, and the career that was offered to him, he was missing something...
So when a notary from Sallanches writes to him one day that this terrible uncle left him his land and his farm when he died, he goes there to find out who he really is, the last of the Dark Winters..."
The show follows Joseph, the last heir of a line from Combloux, growing up in Lyon. He inherits the land from his solitary uncle, on the condition of remaining nine months on the mountain pasture estate. This stay requires overcoming bad weather, facing wild beasts, fighting wolves, and facing adversities as well as his family's tragic past.
Future episodes will continue to follow Joseph and his entourage over three generations, with each show pre-recorded and performed for two years to ensure its longevity.

A dream that comes true
Louis-Marie Renaud, pharmacist in Combloux, had dreamed since childhood of creating a unique event, inspired by similar shows he had attended. Growing up in the Jura, he was deeply influenced by an association which, in the 90s, organized sound and light shows around a ruined castle. The discovery of Légendes de Combloux, in place for five years, has rekindled its inspiration to bring this project to fruition. To write the story and its twists and turns, Louis-Marie immersed himself in the literary works of Jean Giono and Henri Bosco, notably “The Child and the River” and “Malicroix”.
