The Beauregard alpine pasture opens its doors to the public from July 9 to August 30.
Opening of the Beauregard alpine pasture to the public: this historic place becomes a third place of culture and will offer this summer a new program around the exhibition “Les Herbiers Imaginaires” by the artist Geneviève Blanchard, which will be presented within the mountain pasture from July 9 to August 30, 2024.
The Beauregard mountain pasture in a few lines
Located at more than 1400 meters above sea level, in the town of Demi-Quartier and within the Portes du Mont-Blanc ski area, the Beauregard mountain pasture offers a bucolic natural setting where mountain pastures and forests mingle, with a view breathtaking view of Mont-Blanc.
Built in 1885, the building was restored by local artisans between 2017 and 2020 while respecting traditional techniques. Known for having been immortalized by the famous Milka advertisement and its unforgettable slogan “And the marmot, she puts the chocolate in the aluminum foil”, this alpine pasture will open its doors to the public throughout the summer as a new haven entertainment and culture for the whole family.
How to reach the mountain pasture?
To access the Beauregard mountain pasture, the path to take is to the right of the restaurant Les Terrasses du Cuchet, starting from the Cuchet car park. The walk to the mountain pasture generally lasts between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on everyone's walking pace.
The exhibition “Les Herbiers Imaginaires”, with free access to the Beauregard mountain pasture
Geneviève Blanchard has always been creating herbaria of mountain flowers, captivated by the diversity and beauty of the small, often overlooked flowers that we encounter during walks. During her excursions on the alpine paths, she draws a multitude of flowers from life, which she then transforms into prints using various engraving techniques such as drypoint, etching, soft varnish and the monotype. Geneviève Blanchard has chosen to reveal her work in the form of imaginary herbaria in emblematic settings of the Alps, whether majestic mountains, picturesque farms or places dedicated to the discovery of Alpine landscapes. The choice of location plays a central role in the design of his work. It was therefore at the Beauregard mountain pasture that she carried out her project entitled “Les Herbiers Imaginaires”. For this exhibition, she will present around fifty pieces.
The artist Geneviève Blanchard
Geneviève Blanchard lives in Lyon. She has practiced the arts of drawing, painting and sculpture since her childhood. She benefited from in-depth training for around 15 years with the Cubist painters Paul Regny and Andrée Le Coultre. After studying history and two years of teaching experience, she turned to adult training and supporting teams and individuals. Currently, she continues to hone her painting and drawing skills, while specializing in printmaking techniques which she studied intensively for 9 years.
A unique summer program
Dramatized walks, concerts, workshops... all of the activities offered at the Beauregard alpine pasture will have nature and more particularly mountain flora as their common thread, echoing the exhibition.
These activities will complement the vast program offered all year round for the whole family in Combloux, a labeled destination Famille Plus label since 2006.
