Want to have a drink in a warm and original place? We tested Le Dévers for you, this new bar nestled in the center of Combloux, which proudly wears the colors of the mountain and those of its passionate creator, Constance.

Constance, a lover of the peaks

Originally from Bordeaux, Constance chose Haute-Savoie to settle down. It was not a random choice: after several experiences as a seasonal worker in the region, she already had a soft spot for Combloux: “During my seasons, I stayed in Cordon and I knew La Tanière*, it created a special bond with the area. When the bar was put up for sale, I jumped at the chance,” she explains.

With an atypical background – studies in biology, a stint in Australia, and 10 years of experience in catering – Constance has been able to combine her passion for mountain sports with her love of sharing around a good meal. Le Dévers is the culmination of this project that was close to her heart.

The concept of Dévers: relaxation and conviviality

“Nibbles” slate at the Dévers bar

Le Dévers is above all a place without any hassle, where everyone can find what they are looking for: craft beers, organic wines, small house cocktails, and sharing platters based on local products. The menu, written on the blackboard, changes with the seasons and Constance's desires. "Right now, I would recommend a Galibier IPA with homemade hummus. For lovers of charcuterie and cheese, a good mixed platter is a sure bet!"

And for those who are curious, the bar offers a beer to discover every month, most recently the highly appreciated Paix Dieu. A real treat for craft beer lovers!

A decor that tells a story

From the entrance, Le Dévers displays its mountain identity. The granite vaults recall the Alpine reliefs, and the decoration is full of nods to mountaineering: chocks, ice axes, posters of Gaston Rébuffat created by an artist cousin, and a large wallpaper representing the Aiguille du Midi. This last image, taken by a photographer from Chamonix, shows friends climbing the famous Mallory-Porter route. A subtle homage to the summits and those who experience them.

And because people come here to meet up, Constance has also thought of the little extras: board games available to play with family or friends, and a screen showing mountain films. "Every evening, there are people playing, it's quite amusing to see this place come alive naturally," she says with a smile.

Lively evenings at Dévers

At Dévers, entertainment is at the heart of the experience. Constance regularly organizes events: concerts, theme nights, and other moments of sharing that make you want to come back. "It was important for me to create a place that moves, as much for the customers as for me!"

With its well thought-out concept, its nods to the mountain world and its friendly atmosphere, Le Slope is already a must-see in Combloux. So, are you ready to go have a drink at Dévers?
