Hotel PLM and the regionalist villas |

Hotel PLM : This 50 rooms hotel known as the "Mont-Blanc Grand Hotel", finished in 1914, has been sold by its former owner, Mr Pfyl Provence, to the "Ste des Alpes Francaise" company in 1921 and then sold again to the "PLM" company in 1923 (Paris-Lyon-Mediterannee). It has been enlarged in 1924, so that, 200 rooms were offered to wealthy customers. This luxurious has golf, tennis courts and a skating rink giving some wide reception areas, terraces with balustrades from beggining of 20th century style in front of large gardens. In 1950 it is sold as independant flats.
 Regionalist villas: have been built in the late 20s by Mr john Lachenal, landscape gardener, he also did PLM's park. They are characterized by their mansard roofs, canopy and picture windows. Mr Lachenal made also the “hotel Edelweiss” and the “Hotel des glaciers” which will become “Chalet des Etudiants”, “Chalet de la Ville de Sens” and finally “Refuge de la Cigogne”. These structures are the work of the architect Fleury Raillon. They are now private properties. |
