Overview

To further establish and ensure its continuing presence, the SIIAM is broadening its horizons for the 2nd edition.
This biennial home show, located at the crossroads of the Alpine Arc, sets out to help to present another slant on mountain architecture. With its top of the range positioning, manufacturers, architects, project managers, conference speakers and more than 150 exhibitors from the sectors of interior architecture and decoration and garden design are expected, to take on the challenge of constructing differently.

At the conclusion of the first edition in 2011, that had proved to be a huge success with around 10,000 visitors over the 3 days, the 2013 SIIAM is committed to the theme of “constructing differently”. Building at high altitudes cannot be considered in the same way as on the plain. In fact, at a time when the impact our habitations have on the environment has become an urgent problem, the SIIAM will have the task of tackling concretely the different constraints linked to the specificity of the region.

This atypical show concept, dedicated to mountain homes aspires to be on a human scale. Over 150 exhibitors will present new, top of the range materials and technologies in areas such as insulation, building, heating, glazing and lighting… The indoors-outdoors will also be highlighted with furniture, furnishings and landscaping….
Also, in 2013, the SIIAM is inaugurating a “Deco Off” itinerary in ten or so of Megève’s stores.

A show for professionals and the general public, organised around three centres of interest, in and out of doors, and covering over 10,000 m2.

Architecture and materials
New trends, new standards, new so-called intelligent materials; the new requirements to pass from the 2012 Thermal Regulation to that of 2020, or housing with positive energy

Design and Interior decoration
Design and contemporary lines are making their mark in new chalet trends. The mountain “style”, far from being vernacular and rustic architecture, is seen to be constantly renewed and optimised with the creation of SPAs and swimming pools, clearly demonstrating an evolution in the so-called “rustic-chic” decoration.

Plants and gardens
In the heart of the village, on the “Pré Saint Amour”, horticulturists, nursery gardeners, landscape gardeners…. present their productions and know-how, give tips and advice to professionals and individuals alike.
